MARRIAGE COURSE

The Marriage Course is a series of seven video-driven sessions designed to help you invest in your relationship and build a strong marriage. Whether your marriage is in a season of health, struggle, or somewhere in between, this course will help you.

The course includes teaching, personal stories from couples, and built-in time for one-on-one guided conversations with your spouse.

Both spouses must participate in the course together.

You can take the course at your own pace, from the comfort of your own home or with your small group, using our Sun Valley Learning Hub. A Pastor or Mentor Couple will be available to meet with you periodically throughout the course, if you choose.

Weddings

Are you preparing for marriage and wondering about a Sun Valley pastor performing your wedding ceremony? We would love to talk with you more about how we can assist as you take your next steps toward becoming husband and wife. This is truly an exciting moment in your life and we consider it an honor to walk with you through the process.

Your first step in the Sun Valley wedding process is to complete and submit the Wedding Inquiry Form. This form will get you started in the process and help you get connected to a pastor who can officiate your wedding.

After you complete the form above, we will be in touch with you to schedule an appointment with a Sun Valley pastor. If you requested a specific pastor, we will do our best to connect you with your preferred pastor depending on their availability. During this initial meeting, you will have an opportunity to get to know the pastor, learn more about the pre-marriage process, and begin a conversation about your wedding ceremony.

The pastoral fee for officiating a wedding is $350.00 plus any travel expenses associated with ceremonies located outside the Phoenix area. The honorarium is due at the wedding rehearsal.

At Sun Valley Community Church, we believe that a successful marriage begins before the ceremony, so we ask each couple to participate in PreMarriage which helps engaged and seriously dating couples prepare for a healthy, lifelong marriage. This 4-week class includes weekly teaching on what makes a healthy marriage, conversation with a marriage mentor couple, and the results of an assessment tool that will help couples gain valuable insights about each other.

The cost of PreMarriage is $50 and child-care is provided onsite for an additional fee. We strongly recommend completing the process at least 6 months prior to your wedding date.

Finally, you and your officiating pastor will plan the wedding ceremony. You will discuss items like the order of service, music, readings, and the role of your wedding party. If you are planning an onsite wedding, your wedding coordinator will assist you in furnishings, decorations, dressing rooms, etc.
