More Than 2 is an exciting ministry that reaches 9th - 12th graders through relevant teaching, media, games, music, and events throughout the year. We believe that 9th - 12th graders can impact the world.

Parent Information Meeting

For the last 9 months we have been wrestling with how we do high school ministry at Sun Valley. After surveying over 100 parents and students, meeting with over 25 youth pastors in the valley, meetings between Robert, Scott, Chad, Dennis, and Greg, and lots of prayer we have come to some conclusions and we are making changes to the coming semester. Outreach Events:

These events are for those who aren't here yet. Our goal is that students would invite their un-churched friends and that they would experience the life changing love of God through other students and leaders who care about them. Events include...

Freshmen-Sophomore Magic Mountain Trip in November

Lift:

2nd Sunday of each month at 6pm. This once a month event is also designed for students to bring their friends to church. We meet in Auditorium B, where our student leadership has created an environment for students to experience God through music, media, teaching, and mission.

Sunday Mornings at 11:59am. Are you ready to go deep? Through our Equip service students will learn truth essential for surviving college and adult life away from the home. Who is God? Can the Bible be Trusted? How does science fit in with God? Students will learn doctrine, apologetics, worldviews, Bible survey, and much more. In addition to learning, students will have the opportunity to share their thoughts and ask questions throughout the service in their table groups.

Camps:

We see more lives changed through camps than any other event. Camps provide an opportunity for students to get out of their routine and come face to face with God. Camp environments range from weekend retreats to a weeklong surf camp in June. Our biggest camp is the last full week of June with Hume Lake Christian Camps located on the campus of Point Loma in San Diego.

Small Groups: View groups online:

This is a great place for your student to grow by building healthy relationships with other students and leaders who care for them. Small groups meet during the week in homes and are age and gender specific.

Serving:

Our desire is to see High School students serving at Sun Valley - whether it's setting up for the weekend service, welcoming new students or teaching in children's ministry. With serving, High School students can play an important and significant role in their church. To get connected to serving, contact Robert at 480-229-5301.

Mission Trips:

Throughout the year we offer a variety of mission experiences for students at all stages of their journey with Christ. Opportunities range from one day local trips all the way to 2 weeks overseas and beyond for upper classmen. Trips will be promoted on the website as opportunities become available.
